Today´s reading:
OT: Daniel 6
NT: II Peter 3
Ps: Psalm 119:129-152
Pr: Proverbs 28:21-22

Today´s notable verse:

8 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. 9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

II Peter 3:8-9 (NIV)

Today, while driving to Cincinnati to take home our neices who were visiting over the short week, I had the opportunity to help teach the older, 10-year-old neice this principle. She shared with me that she had prayed to God that she might have a baby - not her own; she wants to adopt. So, I got the opportunity to explain to her about praying to God, and telling Him our desires - and also about how God answers prayers, but sometimes we don't understand His timing. I look forward to having these kinds of conversations with our own children one day, too!

The One Year Bible Blog´s comments for today, in which we are asked for our favorite verse from Psalm 119. Mine are:

Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law.

Psalm 119:18 (NIV)

You are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in your word.

Psalm 119:114 (NIV)

Great peace have they who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble.

Psalm 119:165 (NIV)
