Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for noble purposes and some for common use?

    Romans 9:21 (NIV)

Wow, what profound wisdom in such a simple, rhetorical question. Our human concepts of “fair” and “unfair” wither under the light of the truth represented here. God is our Creator, and as such He has the right to create us as He will, for whatever purpose He wills. Our only responsibility as the pottery is to fulfill our purpose for which we were created, and to bring glory and honor to the Potter.

    OT: II Chronicles 11-13
    NT: Romans 8:26-39
    Ps: Psalm 18:37-50
    Pr: Proverbs 19:27-29

    Today´s notable verse:

26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. 27 And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will.

    Romans 8:26-27 (NIV)

Todays reading from the eighth chapter of Romans has some absolutely incredible Scriptures, starting with this description of the Holy Spirit interceding for us, directly to the Father. Following these verses is a passage chock-full of encouragement:

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

    Romans 8:28 (NIV)

What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?

    Romans 8:31 (NIV)

35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

    Romans 8:35-39 (NIV)

if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.
