The Real World: St. Louis
In the fall of 2002, I moved to St. Louis, MO, to accept a new position as a Validation Specialist
with KV Pharmaceutical Company. My work
entails Facility, Utility, and Equipment Qualification and
Validation. (Quite a mouthful; I perform testing, and gather and maintain documentation demonstrating
that our facilities, equipment, and utilities that service them, are fit for their intended use, which
FDA inspects/audits during their routine and pre-approval inspections.) My nearly two and a half years
with the company have been a time of great opportunity, not only to learn a lot and to gain invaluable
experience, but also to contribute to the company’s amazing success. We are in the process of moving
in to two new, state-of-the-art facilities: one an expansion of an existing facility, and the other
a brand-new facility.
Since I have been in St. Louis, I have also found a great church home. This area has several great churches –
some of which I have had some experience with through Bible Bowl back in Junior High/High School – and after
several months trying out a number of them, and on the advice of the Music Pastor at my former church in
Kalamazoo, MI, I came to Destiny Church of St. Louis, where
I have been attending regularly for about six months.
I have also been able to continue playing tennis since I’ve been in St. Louis. This year is my second in a
September-May USTA league. I play 3-doubles
(and 2-doubles on occasion) for a 3.5-flight team.

As most of you might expect, I have also tried to stay involved politically. Even though I was working 50+ hours
a week, with several 12- to 15-hour days, I found some time to volunteer for the
Bush-Cheney '04 Missouri Campaign.
Destiny Church of St. Louis
I have been attending Destiny Church of St. Louis regularly since May/June 2004. Last fall, during the Wednesday night
Life Groups, I took the Church Foundations class. Our class was small, but we developed into a pretty tight-knit group:
